About Kirk BAUER

Kirk Bauer is a certified Diplom Engineer for Oenology & Beverage Technology (University of Geisenheim, Germany).

He has worked in the wine industry for about 20 years and is very passionate about the barrels he supplies throughout Europe, and now Australia and South Africa.

In 2005 he founded his own company which is focused on consulting and services for many renowned wineries in Germany and in central Europe (Luxembourg, France, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland)

His main business is about consulting and distribution of French, American, and European Oak Barrels and Oak Tanks as well as in other innovative containers such as concrete eggs and amphoras. This year we are also offering a large variety of oak adjuncts too.

Additionally to this he supplies all necessary equipment to maintain and manage barrel cellars.

In 2000 Kirk helped found the Mundus Vini  - The Great International Wine Award.
With more than 10.000 entries it is today the biggest European wine challenge. He is still active as a permanent member and president of the Jury. Kirk is one of the five board-members of this international wine competition.

Furthermore he is a permanent member (and sometimes as well the President of the Jury) for London International Wine Challenge (IWC), International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) as well as for Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB), which was held in 2018 for the first time ever outside of Europe, in Beijing.

Through this experience about International wine styles, Kirk became a sworn expert (Chamber of Commerce, Germany) and as such he is active as an Assessor at German courts, when it comes to disputes about wine between buyer and seller or in family disputes about treasury cellars and or wine collections.

He has also been working for many years as a full employed member of the editors team for WEINWIRTSCHAFT, a B2B magazine of the Meininger Verlag, Germany.
